Cubs Rally Past Pirates Late

Paul Maholm, made his regular season debut, as he took the mound agains the Cubs, Carlos Zambrano.

Early off, Carlos Zambrano was trying to get batters to chase the balls, off of the plate, walking 2 of the first 4 batters he faced. Pedro Alvarez hits a single through the infield, and scored Jose Tabata.
In the top of the 3rd inning, with Jose Tabata on first base, Neil Walker hit a fly ball double to center field, scoring Tabata, padding an early lead, to an early 2 – 0 Pirates lead.
Zambrano, solid through out the game, kept the Pirates bats silent, until the 7th inning, as Garrett Jones, who has a good history against Zambrano, hit a solo homerun to right field. Zambrano faced Cedeno, for only four pitches, and was taken out due to a right hand cramp,  has a lengthy history of cramping.
Maholm, taken out in the bottom of the 7th inning, was solid with his 6.2 IP allowing 0 runs on 5 hits, 2 walks and 2 strike outs. 
Set-up man, Evan Meek went to the mound, in the 8th inning, and was roughed up. After walking, pinch hitter, Kusome Fukudome, Starlin Castro doubled him in. Marlon Byrd had a sharply hit ball to first base, as Castro scored on the error, by Lyle Overbay. Alfonso Soriano singled in Byrd, and after Geovanny Soto was walked, Meek was replaced by Chris Resop
Resop closed out the 8th inning, allowing two more runs, both charged to Evan Meek.
Carlos Marmol came on, for the Cubs, to close out the game, and struck out the side, as the Cubs took the win.
